Accreditation Inspection Committee of National Business Education Accreditation

Islamabad, June 08, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Accreditation Inspection Committee of HEC National Business Education Accreditation (NBEAC) visits Sukkur IBA for the accreditation of BBA and MBA programs. SUKKUR IBA was the 10th Institution visited by the evaluators of NBEAC.

The purpose of this visit was to assess and evaluate the current standard of BBA and MBA programs offered at SUKKUR IBA. NBEAC of Higher Education Commission has developed the quality criteria for the process of accreditation for undergraduate and graduate degree. It is expected that institutions desiring of and deserving accreditation will not only meet but substantially exceed these standards.

This will ensure the current competence of the institutions to provide adequate level of teaching/ learning processes and research as well as a capability to retain this competence in the future.

The core objectives of the peer review process are: to assess quality of a program against the factors presented in Self-Assessment Process, to assist all the potential Business schools in identifying those specific programs which meet the NBEAC standards and other quality indicators specified from time to time and to provide guidelines for the up gradation of existing programs.

The council ensures transparent and neutral external evaluation and this accreditation process is developed with the continuous effort of expert academicians. Crisp recommendations based upon the Peer review visits are shared with the management of the Universities / Business Schools.

The council anticipates to complete the Peer Review evaluation visits of 20 Universities by December 2012. Dr Zafar Iqbal Jadoon, Dean UCP Lahore was the chairman of the committee and his committee members were Dr Jan Mohammad(University of Balochistan) Mr Zaki Rashdi (SZABIST Karachi) and Mr Iftikhar Soomro was the representative from local Industry. Mr Ahtesham Ali Raja, Program Manager NBEAC was also present during the visit.
