Administrator Karachi addresses meeting held on development works being carried out in city

Karachi, February 08, 2014 (PPI-OT): Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui has said that after completion of Water Pump, Aisha Manzil and Dakhana Flyovers on Shahrah-e-Pakistan, Teen Hatti Flyover was now being completed speedily. 85 percent construction work of Teen Hatti Flyover has been completed and this flyover would be completed by the end of current month.

He said this while addressing a review meeting held on development works being carried out in the city. The meeting was attended by Director General Engineering Department Niaz Ahmed Soomro and relevant Project Directors.

Administrator Karachi said that all girders of Teen Hatti Flyover have been kept whereas desk slab along with installation of barriers on both sides has also been completed.

Administrator Karachi directed all concerned officers to complete this flyover as soon as possible and not to commit any negligence so that citizens could be provided with facilities.

On this occasion Director General Engineering Department Niaz Ahmed Soomro gave a briefing and informed that both tracks of Teen Hatti Flyover have 7.2meter width and 500meter length. This flyover was being constructed with a cost of Rs17 Crore and 59 Lac.

He informed that shifting of utility lines under the flyover has also been carried out and other works underneath the flyover would be done right after completion of flyover.

Administrator Karachi said that stipulated time for completion of four flyovers was June 2014 however Engineering Department has completed these flyovers before four months.

He said that there were no hindrances in At Grade works now. After completion of this corridor, traffic of Shahrah-e-Pakistan would have facility whereas after shifting of traffic on four flyovers, encroachments would be removed from Teen Hatti to Water Pump and various development works including construction of service road would also be carried out.

He said that KMC, District Municipal Corporation, District Administration along with law enforcement agencies will carry out joint operation against encroachments so that this area could be made encroachments free.
