Farooq Abdullah Accuses Modi Government of Undermining Kashmiri Autonomy and Rights

Srinagar: National Conference President Farooq Abdullah has openly criticized the Indian government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he describes as ongoing efforts to disenfranchise the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir using unconstitutional and undemocratic methods.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during conversations with various delegations in Srinagar, Abdullah detailed how, since the revocation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, the Modi administration has systematically imposed a non-Kashmiri bureaucratic regime on the region, which he claims has led to severe injustices against its residents. He outlined how these measures have pushed the Kashmiri populace into economic hardship, restricting their access to essential services including water, electricity, healthcare, and education, while also curbing employment opportunities for the youth.

Abdullah highlighted the critical need for unity and solidarity among the Kashmiri people to resist these challenges, emphasizing that the strength of collective action is vital for confronting the policies imposed by the Modi government.
