Administrator visits development projects

Karachi, November 01, 2012 (PPI-OT): KMC Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed has said that the construction work of Shahrah-e-Quaideen was underway which would be completed by the end of this month whereas repairing work of the drain walls in the middle of Shahrah-e-Quaideen and RCC covering work would also be done to improve the flow of traffic on this corridor.

He said this while inspecting construction work of Shahrah-e-Quaideen along with Director General Technical Services Altaf G. Memon, Project Director and Consultant. In a briefing Administrator Karachi was informed that all work including carpeting from Khudadad Colony to Noorani Chowrangi had been completed whereas carpeting work form Noorani Chowrangi to Allah wali Chowrangi had almost been completed and construction work on third part of this corridor was underway speedily which would be completed by the end of this month.

Administrator Karachi Muhammad Hussain Syed said that this corridor was constructed 30-32 years ago and it had been in bad condition with broken drain walls due to which accidents took place in past. The traveling would be safe after the construction of this corridor and drain walls and citizens would have better traveling facilities.

Afterwards Administrator Karachi reviewed the work on four flyovers presently underway at Shahrah-e-Pakistan. Project Directors on this occasion gave a briefing to the Administrator about the pace of work on flyovers at different intersections of Shahrah-e-Pakistan.

Administrator Karachi directed project directors to increase the speed of work so that flyovers on important intersections on Shahrah-e-Pakistan could complete as soon as possible and signal free traveling from Teen Hatti to Sohrab Goath could be possible.

He said the aim of construction of flyovers on Shahrah-e-Pakistan was to decrease the traffic pressure on this corridor and make it signal free so that citizens could be provided better traveling facilities.

He said the work on traffic improvement plan on Nazimabad No.7 would be started this week and this project would cost Rs22million whereas the construction work on Shaheen Complex flyover would be started in next 2 weeks with a cost of Rs295.3million. He further said that the construction of Shaheen Complex flyover and Mehran Hotel Underpass would decrease the traffic pressure on Shahrah-e-Faisal and surrounding arteries.
