Affectees of Jaranwala incident to be compensated: Ashrafi

Chairman Pakistan Ullema Council Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi says affected members of the Christian community will be compensated besides rehabilitation of churches and their houses.

During a news conference with delegation of minorities’ leadership in Jaranwala on Saturday, he said that constitution of Pakistan safeguards rights of all the minorities.

He said that no one will be allowed to take law into his hands. Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi said that Jaranwala incident has deeply saddened the entire nation.

On the occasion. the leaders of Christian community called for the sanctity of religious places of worship of all faiths.

They urged all segments of the society to join hands in eradicating religious extremism.
