Srinagar: On Thursday, hundreds of agricultural graduates gathered at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology in Sopore, protesting against increasing unemployment rates among their ranks in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the demonstrators criticized the local authorities for their lack of effective policies and for neglecting to fill numerous vacancies in the Agriculture Production Department. This oversight has exacerbated the joblessness faced by agricultural graduates, including those with advanced degrees.
Protesters shared their frustrations about the numerous unresolved grievances they had filed with the Jammu and Kashmir Government Grievance Cell, pointing to the government’s failure to address their concerns as a source of significant disappointment. They argued that restrictive policies and inconsistent governmental actions are not only preventing qualified individuals from securing employment but are also stalling the introduction of new ideas and innovations within the agricultural sector.
