All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association demand of millers to announce cut in paper prices

Lahore, January 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): All Pakistan Paper Merchants Association (APPMA) has demanded of the paper millers to announce cut in paper prices as the too high paper prices are not only hampering the business activities hard.

In a statement issued here Monday, the leader of APPMA Businessmen Group Khamis Saeed Butt APPMA President Muhammad Ajmal and Vice President Khawaja Nadeem Saeed Wayeen said that only because of high prices of paper, education is getting out of common man reach. They said that paper millers should avoid exploitation of traders and common man as it would spoil the business activities.

They also urged the government to take stringent action against paper mafia. They alleged that paper millers have made a cartel that should be taken into task. They said that a couple of weeks ago, paper mills have made a massive raise of 16000 per ton in the paper prices. They said that unjustified massive increase in the paper prices. They said that paper mafia is trying to fail APPMA efforts to keep education in reach of the poor people.

They said that unjustified profiteering by the paper millers has destroyed the businesses of traders who are already suffering due to acute energy shortage and deteriorating law and order situation. They situation is worsening due to lack of check and balance system by the government. They also urged the Competition Commission of Pakistan to divert its attention towards the paper mafia who is playing havoc with the traders.
