Allama Iqbal had foreseen the rise of China, says Pak Envoy to Singapore

Islamabad, November 10, 2012 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s High Commissioner in Singapore Syed Hasan Javed in a meeting with the famous Chinese Artist, Painter, Calligrapher and Singer Sichuan born Mr. Huang Aojin, on the occasion of the 135th Anniversary of Allama Muhammad Iqbal said that the visionary poet of the East had foreseen the emergence of China on the world stage. Iqbal had recited ‘Himalaya ke Chashme Ubalne Lage , Gira’n khwab Cheeni Sabhalne lage’ which meant that the Himalayan springs have begun spurting and the Chinese have begun to wake up from deep slumber.

In another couplet he said ‘khol ankh zameen dekh falakh dekh, mashriq se ubharta hua suraj ko zara dekh’ which translates as: open up your eyes, see the world and see the sky, also see the rising sun in the East, says a press release received here today from Singapore.

Mr. Huang Ao Jin is the President of Calligraphers Society, Head of the Artists Union and Singers Association of Singapore. He has been invited by External Publicity Wing, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. By his visit Mr. Huang will introduce Pakistan to the next generation of Singapore and Chinese people.

Mr. Huang plans to record, paint and sing the Chinese translation of Allama Iqbal’s poetry that was published in China 25 years ago .Iqbal’s poems on dignity of human labour, Rise of the East, Modern Man, Universal brotherhood, Self( khudi), Children songs are very popular among the Chinese.

Mr. Huang will also write Iqbal’s poetry in classical Chinese calligraphy and hold an exhibition of the same in Singapore, Sichuan and China. His visit has been arranged by the High Commission to enhance people to people contacts and cultural understanding between Pakistan and the Chinese speaking communities in East Asia.
