Ambassador of Hungary to Pakistan calls on Federal Minister for Water Resources

Islamabad, February 20, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Ambassador of Hungary to Pakistan Mr. Istvan Szabo called on Mr. Faisal Vawda, Federal Minister for Water Resources in Islamabad on Wednesday. Bilateral cooperation in the field of water resources was discussed during the meeting. The Federal Minister said that a Memorandum of Understanding on bilateral cooperation on Water Resources between Hungary and Pakistan is in the final stages and is expected to be signed soon. The Hungarian Ambassador shared that Joint Economic Commission will be setup between the two countries this year.

Faisal Vawda invited the Hungarian Ambassador to invest in Water Resources projects in Pakistan. He welcomed joint cooperation on a pilot water supply project for Karachi also. “This is the best time to invest in Pakistan. We welcome Hungary’s investment in water Resources projects and are open for partnerships”, said the Federal Minister while inviting investment from Hungary to Pakistan.

The Hungarian Commercial Counsellor Dr. Istan Grafjodi was also present in the meeting and briefed about areas of expertise where Hungary could work with Pakistan like prevention of floods, irrigation and provision of drinking water. Hungarian Ambassador Istvan Szabo expressed his commitment to work with the Pakistan government and offered his full support. Ambassador Szabo said, “Pakistan is an amazing country. I have witnessed many positive changes in Pakistan during my stay here. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government is a breath of fresh air for the country”.
