Islamabad: Ambassador of Argentine Mr. Rodolfo J. Martin Sravia has said that his country would extend its all-out support to Pakistan for overcoming prevailing energy crisis in the country. He also expressed his country’s desire to utilize huge economic and human resource potential in Pakistan. He said this in a meeting with Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker National Assembly in Parliament House, this afternoon.
While talking to the Argentinean Ambassador, Dr. Fehmida Mirza said that Pakistan attaches immense importance to Argentine which is an important state of South American Continent. She said that the existing 60-years old warm relations between the two countries need to be taken up to new heights through economic and parliamentary cooperation. She appreciated Argentinean support in energy sector, however, stressed for exploring other avenues of cooperation between the two countries.
Reciprocating to the sentiments of Madam Speaker, the Mr. Rodolfo J. Martin Sravia, Ambassador said that his country also attaches great significance to Pakistan and wants to see a stable and prosperous country. He said that his country strongly desires to enhance parliamentary relations between both the countries.
He said that Argentinean investor were keen to invest in energy, trade, agriculture and fishery sectors to take advantage of pro-investment policies in Pakistan. He presented an invitation on behalf of his government to Madam Speaker to attend the transition to power ceremony being held early next month after the recent presidential elections.
Later, Ambassador of Iraq Dr. Rushdi Mahmood Al-Ani met Speaker National Assembly in Parliament House. Talking to the Iraqi Ambassador, Madam Speaker said that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Iraq since both the brotherly countries were tied in bonds of religion, history and culture.
She said that Pakistan wishes to see Iraq a stable and a prosperous country which was in the interest of Iraqi nation and the region. She said that Pakistan would support reconstruction and rehabilitation process in Iraq. She also stressed the need for enhancing parliamentary and economic ties between the two nations.
The Ambassador of Iraq, acknowledging the sentiments of the Speaker and said that Iraq also considers Pakistan one of its close friend and economic partner. He said that law and order situation in Iraq has improved and the government was actively pursuing the reconstruction and rehabilitation process.
He said that his country was keen in importing human resource from Pakistan besides rice, dairy products, machinery, and medical equipment. He conveyed invitation to Madam Speaker to visit Iraq on behalf of Speaker of Iraqi Parliament. He said that parliamentary relations between both the countries would induce impetus to strengthening of existing bilateral relations.
