Anti Narcotics Force recovers over 2 tons of narcotics worth Rs 441 million conducts 9 operations, arrest 10 persons including 2 foreigners

Islamabad, May 12, 2014 (PPI-OT): ANF conducted 9 operations at Punjab, Sindh, KPK and Baluchistan. Recovered 2193 Kgs of Opium, 79 Kgs of Chars and over 2 Kgs Heroin and arrested 10 persons including 2 foreigners. The price of recovered drugs is approximately Rs 4 Arab and 41 crore in International Market.

According to details, ANF Quetta recovered 2170 Kgs of Wet-Opium from foothills of Killi Sardar Kamal Khan, Tehsil Bishor, District Pashin. The seized drugs were placed in 87 Polythene Sacks at un-inhabited place. The drugs originated from Helmond, Afghanistan and were destined abroad.

ANF Karachi conducted a raid at a Poultry Form, near Somaro, Hyderabad and recovered 70 Kgs Charas. 2 persons namely Muhammad Shuaib and Sadiq Ali have also been arrested. ANF Karachi Airport Team arrested a Nepali girl named Kamisya Tamang and recovered Heroin Filled Ingested Capsules. She was to travel by PIA Flight No PK-268 from Karachi to Kathmandu.

ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team arrested Shahzad Khan s/o Bakht Munir Khan r/o Sawabi at Islamabad Airport, who confessed of having Heroin Filled Ingested Capsules. He was to travel by PIA Flight No PK-209 from Islamabad to Sharja.

ANF Rawalpindi Airport Team arrested Muhammad Rizwan s/o Muhammad Afzal r/o Khushab at Islamabad Airport, who confessed of having Heroin Filled Ingested Capsules. He was to travel by Shaheen Airline Flight No NL-551 from Islamabad to Abu Dhabi.

ANF Rawalpindi in collaboration with ASF recovered 2.092 Kgs Heroin from Shoes of 2 passengers destined from Islamabad to Birmingham (UK) by PIA Flight No PK-791. Both accused namely Muhammad Nawaz s/o Muhammad Sarwar (British citizen) and Muhammad Alyas s/o Nazir Ahmed r/o Toba Tek Singh have been arrested at the spot.

ANF Peshawar on information, recovered 23 Kgs of Opium dumped in bushes near Admore Petrol Pump, Kohat Road, Peshawar. ANF Peshawar acting on source information intercepted a bus at Indus Highway, Kohat and recovered 8.9 Kgs of Charas. A person named Ameer Zada s/o Mian Muhammad Sharif r/o Sawat has also been arrested.

ANF Peshawar Airport Team arrested Rawaid Ali Shah s/o Abdur Rauf Shah r/o Mardan at Peshawar Airport, who confessed of having Heroin Filled Ingested Capsules. He was to travel by Shaheen Airline Flight No NL-786 from Peshawar to Dubai. Cases have been registered at ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under process.
