A varied duration anti-Polio vaccination campaign began across the country today.

During the campaign, anti-Polio vaccine will be administered to children under five years of age.

Mobile teams of health department will go door to door to ensure that no child is left without vaccination.

In Punjab, anti-polio drive started in six specific districts, which will continue until 9th of this month.

During the drive, anti-polio drops will be administered to six point four million children in Lahore, Okara, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan and Mianwali.

In Sindh, a seven-day special anti-polio vaccination campaign began in twenty districts including Karachi.

In the drive, around 4.5 million children upto the age of five would be administered anti-polio vaccine.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a five-day anti-polio drive in twenty-three districts started today.

More than three point five million children will be administered anti-polio drops during the campaign.

And in Balochistan, seven-day anti-polio campaign began i
n fourteen districts.

During the drive, more than 1.8 million children would be administered anti-polio drops.

Due to expected heat-wave in Naseerabad, Sibi, Jaffarabad, Usta Muhammad, Dera Bugti and Sohbatpur, the anti-polio drive will begin on 8th of this month.

Meanwhile, a terrorist was killed by the police when he opened fire on a polio team in Bettani area of Lakki Marwat this afternoon.

According to Lakki Marwat Police, arms and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist.

The polio team remained safe while one police personnel was injured in exchange of firing.
