APHC-AJK urges world to take note of HR abuses in IOK

Islamabad, March 19, 2019 (PPI-OT): The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter at a meeting in Islamabad, today, urged the international community to take notice of the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir. The meeting, which was presided over by the APHC-AJK Convener, Syed Abdullah Gilani, expressed concern over the deteriorating human rights situation in occupied Kashmir and said that the Indian forces were committing atrocities on innocent Kashmiri people.

The participants of the meeting condemned the killing of a school principal and Jamaat-e-Islami activist, Rizwan Asad Pandit, in the custody of India’s National Investigation Agency. They also denounced the invoking of draconian Public Safety Act against Muhammad Yasin Malik, Advocate Zahid Ali and other Hurriyat leaders and notices to Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Syed Naseem Gilani. The leaders strongly condemned the arrests of Hurriyat leaders and activists and cordon and search operations by Indian forces in every nook and corner of the territory.

Those who participated in the meeting included Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Abdul Majeed Mir, Muhammad Hussain Khateeb, Nisar Mirza, Abdul Majeed Malik, Adeel Mushtaq Wani, Nazir Karnai, Raja Khadim Hussain, Advocate Pervez Ahmed, Haji Sultan Butt, Imtiaz Wani and Shaikh Abdul Mateen.
