Arrest of Shabbir Shah termed authorities’ frustration

Srinagar, June 22, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has condemned the arrest of its Chairman, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and termed it frustration of the authorities. The DFP spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Shabbir Ahmad Shah was on his way to Redwani, Kulgam, to pay tributes to martyrs that Indian police arrested him.

Paying tributes to martyred youth, Javed Ahmad Buttt and Idrees Ahmad Nengroo, the spokesperson said that during the gunfight, the police personnel harassed the residents of the area. “As people started protesting against the forces’ highhandedness, they opened fire on civilians claiming the life of a youth Asif Rashid Taantray.

Condemning the killing, the spokesperson said India and its local collaborators have no regard for human lives and have made the people of Kashmir victims of political vengeance. Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt was detained at Bijbehara when he was on way to Kulgam where Indian forces three youth including civilian Asif Ahmad Tantary during a siege and search operation.

The party spokesman in a statement condemned police action and demanded a fair probe into the killing of Asif Ahmad Tantary. He said that youth was targeted and killed when he was along with his colleagues heading towards mosque to offer Fajir prayers.
