Lahore, March 09, 2020 (PPI-OT): As per directions of IGP Punjab Shoaib Dastagir, actions against anti-social elements and criminals is continued on speedily especially against illegal Arms, drugs dealers and kites dealers. In this regard, Kasur police took emergency steps and arrested 462 professional criminals including 40 accused of 11 dangerous dacoit gangs, the police recovered stolen goods and drugs having worth of millions of rupees and also seized illegal Arms from their possession whereas 155 kite fliers have been arrested and 10 thousand kites and metallic thread have been recovered.
According to the details, on the directions of IG Punjab Shoaib Dastagir, under the supervision of DPO Kasur Zahid Nawaz Marwat, the district police arrested 40 members of 11 dangerous dacoit gangs involved in dozens of criminal activities and recovered stolen goods having worth of 27 lacs and modern illegal weapons from their possession. Moreover, 96 heinous cases have been traced by these accused. Likewise, actions against drug dealers, 92 notorious drugs dealers have been arrested and 56 kg chars, 1213 litre wine, 171 liter lehn, 11 kg heroin and 04 running wine kilns have been seized after lodging cases.
Similarly, while taking action against illegal weapons holders, 04 klashankoves, 09 rifles, 15 guns, 117 pistols, 02 carbine and 13 magazines have been recovered from 147 accused and cases have been registered against them whereas while taking actions against proclaimed offenders, 137 proclaimed offenders have been arrested involved in murder, dacoity, robbery like heinous crimes and further 19 court absconders have been arrested. The district police raided 09 gambling points and arrested 27 accused red handedly and also recovered gambling money.
Likewise, full fledged actions have been taken against kite fliers and 136 cases have been registered along with recovering more than 10 thousand kites and kite reels and threads from 155 accused. DPO Kasur Zahid Nawaz Marwat said that it has been directed by IG Punjab that in order to develop trust between public and police, anti-social elements should be taken behind the bars and also develop a sense of protection in public so that they consider police their helper and guide. He further said that in order to ensure protection of wealth and lives of the citizens, crackdown against proclaimed offenders, dacoits, drugs dealers and habitual criminals shall be continued on.
