ASEAN Ambassadors Visit Pakistan’s National Disaster Management HQ to Strengthen Cooperation

Islamabad: A distinguished delegation of ASEAN ambassadors, led by H.E. Col (Rtd) Pg Kamal Bashah, Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Islamabad and High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam, visited the National Emergencies Operation Center at the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

According to National Disaster Management Authority, the delegation included ambassadors and representatives from Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Indonesia, and Thailand. They were briefed on the capabilities of the NEOC, focusing on Pakistan’s use of technology-driven disaster projections and predictive analysis in the disaster risk reduction cycle.

The visit highlighted the strong interest from both ASEAN and the Pak NDMA to enhance collaboration in disaster management. This effort aims to strengthen partnerships and develop shared resilience strategies to improve disaster response capabilities across the region.
