ATC Faisalabad Sentences 59 PTI Leaders and Workers to 10 Years in Jail

Faisalabad: An Anti-Terrorism Court in Faisalabad on Monday handed down ten-year imprisonment each to 59 PTI leaders and workers in the case related to an attack on PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah’s house during the May 9 incidents. The judge of the Court, Javed Iqbal Sheikh, announced the verdict.

According to Radio Pakistan, the convicted PTI leaders include Syed Shibli Faraz, Omer Ayub, and Zartaj Gul. In addition to the ten-year sentences, the court also sentenced three years imprisonment each to sixteen other leaders and supporters involved in the case.

The ATC, however, acquitted thirty-four other PTI leaders and workers, including Fawad Chaudhry and Zain Qureshi, concluding that there was insufficient evidence to convict them in this particular case.
