Srinagar, August 05, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has condemned the detention of one, Ghulam Hassan Butt of Batpora Bagaat, Sopore in Baramulla district in place of his son, terming it as the act of state terrorism and lawlessness.
The spokesman for the forum, Ayaz Akbar in a statement issued in Srinagar said, “Following frequent police raids on his residence, Mansoor Hassan went into hiding to avoid the arrest. But the police on July 31 and arrested his father Ghulam Hassan Butt and took him to some unknown place.”
“When daughters of Ghulam Hassan visited the police station concerned to see their father, they were pressurized to give in writing that their brother has crossed the border for arms training.”
“When they protested outside the police station, police used teargas shelling against the people, protesting the injustice done to Butt’s family resulting in injuries to 9-year-old Toufeeq Nabi Butt and 10-year-old girl Zainab,” Akbar added, demanding immediate release of Ghulam Hassan Butt.
Meanwhile, the spokesman strongly condemned continued house detention of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Raja Meraj-ud-din.
