Karachi, July 02, 2013 (PPI-OT): Two day awareness Training Session on Halaal Products in accordance with Pakistan Standards organized by Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) from 1-2 July, 2013 in Karachi.
With estimated figures for trade touching the trillion US Dollar mark, there is staggering potential for Halaal products globally. This potential has been recognized by the Government of Pakistan. As in Trade Policy 2009-10 and Strategic Trade Policy Framework 2009-12 developed by Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan.
PSQCA, the apex body of Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of Pakistan realized the importance of Halaal and its socio-economic impacts globally. PSQCA has not only developed Pakistan Standards for Halaal for three different level to build confidence among stakeholders but also promulgating thereof.
The purpose of the two day awareness training session is to give updated knowledge and awareness on Pakistan Standards for Halaal and its compliance against the requirements mentioned in the Pakistan Standards.
This awareness training session provided the methodology, knowledge and skills need to assess, manage, develop, and implement effective Halaal product certification process and documentation. In the concluding session, Mr. Barkat Saeed Memon, Deputy Director General, PSQCA was chief guest. He appreciated the work of technical committee on Halaal that had developed Pakistan Standards for Halaal for three different level to build confidence among stakeholders.
He emphasized to all stakeholders to use these Pakistan Standards for Halaal for the production of Halaal food. He appreciated and encouraged experts in using PSQCA platform for sharing expertise on Halaal. PSQCA received very good feedback from the food processing industries, chambers of commerce, associations, certification bodies, academia, research institutions, Darul uloom, experts, free lancers, students etc. in organizing first ever training session on Pakistan Standards for Halaal.
This kind of training session is part of promotional activity of this Authority in promoting quality culture in Pakistan. PSQCA will also arrange training on Halaal in different part of the Pakistan and as well at international level.
