Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Marks One Year of Coalition Government with Address on Progress and Challenges

Muzaffarabad, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar Haq marked the one-year anniversary of the coalition government with a detailed address on the achievements and challenges faced during this period. He attributed the success to a sense of responsibility and support from various stakeholders, expressing gratitude for the guidance provided by the Pakistan Army and other state institutions.

According to Press Information Department – Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the Prime Minister highlighted the coalition government’s accomplishments in areas such as infrastructure development, budget management, and social welfare programs. He noted that despite starting with an 8 billion deficit, the coalition government reduced it to 1 billion while ensuring transparency in budget spending.

Prime Minister Haq emphasized the importance of maintaining the writ of the state, stating that the government would take a firm stance against corruption and that no one could challenge the state’s authority. He announced plans to expand road construction, improve social sector programs, and focus on the health and education sectors, with ten district hospitals showing significant improvement.

The Prime Minister also announced a 10 billion endowment fund to support orphans, widows, transgenders, destitute elderly men and women, and divorced women. He described the government’s efforts to eliminate corruption and promote good governance, citing biometric systems and improved public service commissions as evidence of progress.

During the ceremony, several government ministers and political figures were present. Government Minister Abdul Majid Khan remarked on the coalition government’s successful completion of one year, praising Prime Minister Haq for his patience and ability to navigate through financial and administrative challenges.

Transport Minister Javed Butt gifted the Prime Minister with a traditional kangari, symbolizing warmth and support, while Government Minister Javed Butt organized the ceremony to commemorate the one-year milestone.

The Prime Minister’s speech ended with a call to serve the people with dedication and to maintain the state’s commitment to public welfare and social justice. He thanked the coalition parties, former President and Prime Minister Sardar Muhammad Yaqub Khan, and former Defense Minister Lt Gen (Rtd) Anwar Ali Haider for their support and contributions to the government’s success.
