Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister says that his government introducing self-accountability system to ensure the rule of law and put an end to exploitative system

Muzaffarabad, July 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed disclosed on Thursday that his government is introducing self-accountability system in the State to ensure the rule of law and put an end to exploitative system and VIP culture.The Prime Minister declared this while briefing under-training officers of Audit and Accounts Department here in Muzaffarabad. Ch Majeed continued that his government was initiating all-out effective steps to introduce a new culture of merit so that nobody could fall prey to discrimination.

The AJK PM asserted that his government was working on a policy to provide basic facilities of life to the masses. “The provision of basic facilities to people in rural areas will help bring these areas at par with urban areas and help improve living standard of the masses,” he pointed out.He said that the AJK government had undertaken record development projects in different sectors across the State, adding that completion of these projects would usher in a new era of progress and prosperity. Replying a question, the AJK Premier said that there were ample opportunities of foreign investment in various sectors including hydel power generation, tourism and mineral development.

To another question regarding liberation of Kashmir, he said that the Kashmir issue had become a flashpoint in the Subcontinent and the international community was pressing India to resolve it.Meanwhile chairing a high level meeting, Ch Majeed said that his government is taking special measures to present peoples-friendly and a welfare-oriented budget for the next financial year in AJK.

He asked the administration to give proposals to the government with regard to the welfare of employees and added that proposals are also being attained from all stakeholders to make the budget people welfare-oriented. He also assured that budget proposals of the opposition leader would be included in the budget to help resolve problems of the common man. Prime Minister told that a welfare foundation had been set up for government servants for their benefits without any discrimination.

The AJK Premier admitted that government servants were facing great difficulties in the cases of their promotions due to absence of rules frame, which are being formulated. He said a committee headed by AJK Chief Secretary has been set up for framing the rules. He advised the bureaucracy to work with missionary spirit to provide relief to the masses.

The AJK Finance Secretary informed the meeting that the AJK government got Rs5 billion additional amount in the current financial year through the concerted efforts of the incumbent regime which led to ending the financial deficit. He stated this additional amount would also be reflected in the next budget.
