Balochistan Government Tightens Security Measures Amid Rising Threats

Quetta: In a crucial session held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Tuesday, Balochistan’s top officials, including Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, devised a robust strategy to bolster law and order and enhance police effectiveness across the province. This meeting comes in response to recent terrorist activities and aims to secure sustainable peace and stability in the region.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting included key provincial security officials like Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan and Inspector General Police Abdul Khaliq Sheikh, among others. They reviewed the current security landscape and discussed strengthening the police and levies with modern equipment and additional professional training. Notably, the meeting resolved to appoint new Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) in Balochistan as a special measure to combat the shortage of officers.

The discussions also covered the need for accelerated passport services in Chaman and an enhanced Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) presence in Quetta to monitor and counteract anti-state activities online. The leaders expressed a united front against external threats, particularly those jeopardizing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, asserting that all conspiracies against Pakistan would be effectively countered.
