Bank of Punjab Joins Forces with Surfin Meta for Digital Banking Innovation in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The Bank of Punjab has announced a strategic partnership with Surfin Meta Digital Technologies Pte Ltd to explore and potentially implement advanced digital banking solutions in Pakistan. The memorandum of understanding seeks to enhance financial access and operational efficiency through cutting-edge technology.

The agreement was formalized in Islamabad with Mr. Li Jin of Surfin Meta and Mr. Nofel Daud, Chief Digital Officer of BOP, as signatories. The signing ceremony was attended by Zafar Masud, President and CEO of BOP, who emphasized the bank’s commitment to innovation and digital transformation.

Masud noted the alignment of Surfin Meta’s AI-based credit scoring and merchant services with BOP’s mission to support underserved segments, including SMEs and youth entrepreneurs. The collaboration aims to embed advanced technologies into BOP’s digital ecosystem.

Surfin Meta’s Executive Chairman and CEO, Wu Yanan, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. He highlighted the potential of their AI-powered digital infrastructure to improve customer experiences and expedite loan decisions, underscoring its alignment with BOP’s goals.

The MoU outlines a plan for both organizations to jointly explore services like digital onboarding and AI-driven loan origination. It will also include live demonstrations and potential pilot deployments of Surfin Meta’s platform.
