Barkhan Education Officials Take Action Against Teacher Absenteeism

Barkhan: A District Education Group meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Waqar Khurshid Alam concluded with strict resolutions to address teacher absenteeism and reactivate closed schools in the district.

According to Directorate General Public Relation – Govt of Balochistan, the meeting reviewed the RTSM report and the Education Department’s assessment, both of which were found satisfactory by attendees including District Education Officer Navid Latif and other key educational leaders. Decisive actions included the termination of four chronically absent teachers and the issuance of show cause notices to fifteen others. Further measures mandated salary deductions for absentee teachers to reinforce attendance compliance.

Deputy Commissioner Alam emphasized that leniency had been previously extended to the teaching staff, but persistent absenteeism had necessitated firmer departmental actions. The meeting underscored a zero-tolerance policy towards neglect in educational duties, asserting the critical importance of teacher presence for maintaining educational standards.
