Islamabad: Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Kashmir, Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon, has highlighted the unresolved status of Kashmir as a critical issue stemming from the partition of the subcontinent, labeling it a potential nuclear flashpoint in the region.
According to a statement by National Assembly of Pakistan, Rana Noon made these comments during a meeting with Haji Mohd Azmi Abd Hamid, President of the Malaysia Consultative Council of Islamic Organization (MAPIM), at the Parliament House. He recognized Malaysia’s steadfast support for Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir and commended the Malaysian government and its people for backing the right to self-determination for Kashmiris.

Rana Noon urged the international community to urgently address the ongoing atrocities in IIOJK and encouraged Malaysia to elevate the Kashmir issue at ASEAN and other international platforms. He also proposed collaborative academic research between Pakistani and Malaysian universities, enhanced partnerships through the Malaysian Parliamentary Friendship Group, and global diplomatic efforts to bolster the Kashmiri cause.
The meeting also included attendance by MNA Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, MNA Sardar Fateh Ali Khan Miankhail, and MNA Aqeel Anjum, who conveyed their support for the people of Kashmir.
