BISP spokesperson warns against fraud via fake social media messages

The Benazir Income Support Programme spokesperson has warned citizens to be cautious about the fraud being committed through fake messages on social media and cell numbers.

He said all BISP messages are sent from 8171 only, and those received from other numbers are fake messages.

The spokesman said the real messages from the BISP do not promise provision of any financial assistance without verification and documentation. He said the BISP also never warns any beneficiary to expel her or him from the programme.

Any information about the BISP programmes can be obtained from its helpline 080026477. The BISP offices established in every district can also be visited by citizens for the purpose.
