BJP has failed to address even basic issues of IIOJK people: Congress

Jammu, May 30, 2023 (PPI-OT): The Congress chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has said that the Narendra Modi led Indian government and the territory’s administration have miserably failed to address even basic issues of the people as a result of which strong resentment is brewing among the masses. This was stated by Uday Bhanu Chib, president IIOJK Youth Congress while interacting with people of Ramzanpura, Arjan Nagar and Basant Nagar in Jammu. Uday Chib took stock of the problems being faced by the people of the aforesaid areas in the absence of elected government in IIOJK. He said the onus is on the BJP which besides being in power in India is directly ruling IIOJK through its handpicked Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha.

Chib observed that the majority of people maintained that no new developments but only facelifts of previous works were done in the area. He said that the BJP was in power in India and was ruling the J and K too, it was easy for the party to forward issues of common masses through their administration in territory to the Indian ministries concerned, for mitigating the sufferings of people but they took them casually. But, he maintained, the BJP leadership has totally failed to fulfill people’s aspirations, adding most parts of the Jammu city are facing scarcity of potable water and power and dilapidated condition of lanes.

Hari Singh Chib, president DCC [District Development Council] Jammu Rural, who was also accompanying Uday Chib, said on the occasion that the BJP government betrayed the people on the issue of statehood and misled them on various emotive issues. He asserted that the Modi government also betrayed the people by reducing the status of J and K to a union territory.
