CAC Pakistan Summit and Pak-China Agro Chem Expo will be held from August 05 to 06

Lahore, July 21, 2014 (PPI-OT): CAC Pakistan Summit and Pak-China Agro Chem. Expo will be held from August 05 to 06, 2014 at Lahore Expo Center. This was stated by the LCCI President Engineer Sohail Lashari while addressing a Press Conference on Monday. LCCI former Senior Vice President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad and Javed Saleem Qureshi also spoke on the occasion.

Engineer Sohail Lashari said that it was indeed a matter of great pride for LCCI that CCPIT Chem which a well known Chinese organizations have partnered with us in connection with holding CAC Pakistan 2014 in Expo Center, Lahore from 5-6 August 2014.

He said that there are about 120 stalls booked by major companies of Pakistan and China related to agriculture and its sub sectors. The LCCI President said that this would add another chapter of success in the history of international exhibitions in Pakistan that around 23 Chinese companies are participating in this exhibition.

He said that there are 60 stalls booked by Chinese companies to exhibit state of the art technologies and solutions to improve the productivity of agro based commodities and also keep the crops free of hazards.

He informed the participants that leading groups and companies of Pakistan associated with different sub-sectors of agriculture have confirmed their participation in CAC Pakistan. Engineer Sohail Lashari said that these companies will also manifest their range of products on almost 60 stalls to visiting importers, distributors and farmers from Pakistan and neighbouring countries.

He said that Pakistan is an agrarian economy but we lag far behind in terms of obtaining the desired level of knowledge and ways to combat with potential threats to our food and cash crops existing in the form of pests, unnecessary herbs and scarcity of water.

He said that CAC Pakistani promises to display and convince the use of modern technologies developed over the period of time through research and development in the field of agriculture. He said that other than exhibition, CAC Pakistan Summit will also be organized on 5th August 2014 at Main Auditorium of Expo Center Lahore.

The LCCI President said that the Chief Minister Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will be Chief Guest and Chinese Ambassador will also grace the occasion. Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan, Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research and Dr. Farukh Javed, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Punjab are taking special interest in this mega event.

He said that the CAC Pakistan will provide a joint forum to government officials and industry professionals to highlight the benefits of using pesticides, fertilizers, processed seeds, latest yet affordable agri-equipment and machinery.

He said that there lies an immense potential of agro-chemicals in Pakistan which must be utilized on priority basis. Agro-chemicals have contributed significantly in raising agricultural yield and there is still a lot of room to bring improvement in this sector.

Engineer Sohail Lashari said that we are very glad to coordinate with CAC which sets up world’s largest agro-chemical trading platform in China every year with most updated policies, products, technologies and market dynamics.

He said that CAC has broadened its network by exhibiting in Europe, Brazil and other important destination of world. It is going to be the first time that CAC is holding such kind of exhibition and summit in South Asia. We are happy that Pakistan is taking this lead to hold this important exhibition in collaboration with CAC.

Engineer Sohail Lashari said that we would like to welcome them to Pakistan and make all possible efforts to make it a successful show. I wish that CAC Pakistan may take place every year in Pakistan and our agriculture sector could grow by leaps and bounds.

He said that we expect great results from this exhibition and hope that this event will prove to be a perfect beginning in the right direction to bring greater fortunes to Pakistan. He said that this event will further strengthen the trade relations between Pakistan and China taking both the countries even closer and creating win-win situation for each other.
