Chairman Pakistan Ordnance Factories Board Wah Open Marathon Race held on eve of Pakistan Day

Wah Cantt, March 23, 2016 (PPI-OT): POF Sports Control Board arranged Chairman POF Board Wah Open Marathon Race on the eve of Pakistan Day at POF Sports Complex in which 2000 players all over the country participated. Cash prizes valuing Rs.15 lakh 40 thousand distributed among the position holders. Lt Gen Omar Mahmood Hayat, HI (M) Chairman POF Board was the Chief Guest of the concluding ceremony held at POF Sports Gymnasium who distributed cash prizes and shields among the position holders. This Marathon Race was consist of 5 different categories which includes Open Category 20 KM, Senior Category (40-50 years) 10 KM, Silver Category 5 KM, Ladies Category 03 KM and Children Category 03 KM.

Mr. Israr Khattak got 1st position, Mr. Faizan Khan 2nd and Mr. Nadeem Hassan 3rd position in Open Category. In Silver Category, Mr. Muhammad Maroof got 1st, Mr. Shaukat Ali Khan 2nd and Mr. M. Bashir got 3rd position. In Ladies category, Ms. Iram Shehzadi got 1st, Ms. Kiran Shehzadi 2nd and Ms. Zainab Khan 3rd position. Mr. Abdus Salam got 1st, Mr. M. Abdullah Iqbal 2nd and Mr. Hamza Ali 3rd position in children categories.

In the welcoming remarks, Mr. Asad Durrani Secretary POF Sports Control Board told that the aim of this race was to improve the soft image of Pakistan at National and International level and credit of holding this race goes to Dr. Amir Murad President POF Sports Control Board and Executive Director HR and OD.

He further mentioned that as per instructions of Chairman POF Board, POF Sports Control Board has planned to hold Wah Region School Sports Gala, Asian Kabaddi Championship, International Ranking Squash Tournament, Devis Cup Tennis Tournament and All Pakistan Basketball Tournament in the days to come. POF Gymnasium was jam packed with the spectators on the eve of concluding ceremony who encouraged the position holders players. A large number of POF senior officers and players witnessed the concluding ceremony.
