Karachi, November 11, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah today paid a surprise visit of the different areas and police stations of the Metropolis. Chief Minister Sindh expressed his dissatisfaction over the lack of Police and Rangers Patrolling at the main round abouts and other areas.
He directed Additional I.G Police Sindh to increase the patrolling and evolve an effective strategy for snap checking. He said protection of the lives and property of the people is the prime responsibility of law enforcing agencies. Chief Minister Sindh issued these directives while paying surprise visits of Lasbella, Nazimabad, Hyderi, Sakhi Hassan, Five Star Chorangi, Nagan Chorangi, North Karachi, Garden, M.A Jinnah road, Katti Pahari, Methadar, Kharadar and Preedy (Saddar) Police Stations.
Chief Minister Sindh issued on spot directives to suspend the SHO and other absent staff of Methadar Police Station. He inquired about the attendance register, FIR record and details of the deployment of the police personnel from duty officer at Preedy police Station in Saddar. He directed for immediate suspension of absent police staff of Preedy police station.
Chief Minister Sindh expressed his dissatisfaction over the improper patrolling of Police and Rangers and absence of traffic police from the main roads and round abouts of the city. He issued directives to suspend the S.P traffic District central immediately.
Chief Minister Sindh directed all the TPOs and DSPs to ensure round the clock police patrolling in city. He also directed the Additional IG and three DIGs of Karachi for self monitoring the law and order situation, expedite the efforts to control the killings and other crimes and keep strict eye on the performance of the police stations in their jurisdiction.
Chief Minister Sindh warned the DIG Police South to make all possible efforts to improve Law and Order situation. He also warned the DIG Traffic Police for making sure presence of traffic police officials at main round abouts and make efforts for smooth flow of traffic in the metropolis, giving him one week time to overcome the traffic jams, incase of failure strict action would be taken against the irresponsible officers/officials.
Chief Minister Sindh while issuing directions at different police stations observed that only protocol is not the responsibility of Police and Rangers, their prime responsibility is to protect the lives and the properties of the people, which is superior to all other responsibilities, he added.
He said that strict action would be taken against those officials who were not performing their duties in proper way. Ensuring the Law and Order and controlling the crime, Police and Rangers and other LEAs have to improve their performance, C.M Sindh added.
Chief Minister Sindh during his surprise visit took notice of bad condition of different roads and directed the Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation KMC, to immediately repair the roads so that residents of the city could be provided better transport facilities. On this occasion Special Assistant to C.M Sindh Mr.Waqar Mehdi and Political Coordinator Siddique Abu Bhai accompanied the Chief Minister Sindh.
