Chief of Army Staff visits field formations in Federally Administered Tribal Areas

Rawalpindi, December 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif visited Field Formations deployed in FATA today. This is his first visit to North and South Waziristan Agencies, after assumption of command on 29 November 2013.

While interacting with officers and men at Miranshah and Wana, COAS expressed satisfaction and appreciated the state of combat readiness and very high morale of troops. He also lauded their achievements towards bringing stability in these areas through development projects being under taken by army at very high pace. These development projects are likely to contribute in the National effort for durable peace and economic prosperity in the areas affected by terrorism.

He advised the officers and men to continue working with army’s traditional unflinching resolve and utmost dedication in the service of Nation.

Earlier on arrival at Peshawar, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Kahlid Rabbani, Commander 11 Corps.
