China asks last Indian journalist to leave country

Beijing, June 12, 2023 (PPI-OT): The last Indian journalist working in China has been asked to leave the country by the end of this month. Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin on Monday said that Chinese reporters were treated unfairly in India.

A person with knowledge of the situation told the media that the Chinese government had ordered the Press Trust of India reporter to leave the country this month. At a time when relations are deteriorating, his departure will erase India’s media presence from the second-largest economy in the world. Four reporters from Indian media firms were based in China early this year.
