Commissioner, Administrator vow to make pollution-free environment

Karachi, October 24, 2014 (PPI-OT): Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui and Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhter Farooqui said we all should make joint efforts for improving environment and eliminating pollution. Collective interest must be taken into consideration instead of individual benefit. City administration will provide all possible cooperation to the organizations which were working seriously on environment improvement programs.

They expressed these views while speaking in the 11th Annual Environment Excellence Award ceremony held by the National Forum for Environment and Health at a local hotel. Mirza Ikhtiar Biaig, Mirza Ishtiaq Baig, Kaleem Siddiqui, Zahid Hussain and president of forum Naeem Qureishi also addressed the participants on this occasion. Administrator Rauf Akhtar Farooqui stressed the need of taking all necessary measures for bringing improvement in the environment around us and that could make us feel save and protected.

He called this unfortunate that the parks and other recreation places were occupied or destroyed without thinking about the huge loss due to this to the city and citizens. He said we need to work on the corporate social responsibility (CSR) CSR as this would bring major change in our environment.
