Commissioner Kohat said that sports play a vital role in building the character, physical and mental health

Peshawar: The Commissioner Kohat Division, Sahibzada Muhammad Anis has said that sports play a vital role in building the character, physical and mental health.

This, he said, while participating in the proceeding of the final match of Inter-District Football Tournament organized by the District Sports Office, Karak.

Present on the occasion were MPA Malik Qasim Khan, DIG of Police Kohat Range, Masud Afridi, Addl: Commissioner Kohat Zakir Hussain Afridi, DPO Kohat Mubaraq Zaib and DCO Karak Muhammad Zubair.

Sahibzada Anis termed the occasion a good omen for prevalence of peace in the region. He lauded the spirit of sportsmen and their performance. He emphasized on healthy features of sports and decimation of anti social activities. The people of the area showed satisfaction over moves of government and local administration for preservation of peace and tranquillity and showed gratification over their presence on the occasion.

Earlier, the commissioner inspected the under construction building of GGDC, Takhti Nasrati, up-gradation of RHC Latamber to category-D Hospital in District Karak and the under construction building of TMA office Takhti Nasrati.

He showed satisfaction over the quality and pace of work. Sahibzada Anis showed concern over the vacant posts of doctors in the hospital and directed for taking up the case with the health authorities to take appropriate action for early filling of the vacant posts as non-availability of doctors in the backward area will worsen the situation.

The commissioner also directed that the Animal Husbandry Hospital Takhti Nasrati be shifted to any other suitable place outside the college. Later, the commissioner distributed prizes and trophy amongst the winning teams and players.
