Congress President Kharge Criticizes Modi Government as a ‘Cruel Joke’ on Indians

New Delhi: Mallikarjun Kharge, President of the Indian National Congress, has launched a scathing critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration, labeling the “Modi ki guarantee” as a cruel joke on the nation’s 140 crore citizens.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Kharge articulated his criticisms through a social media post on ‘X’, where he accused the Modi government of “lies, deceit, fakery, loot, and publicity.” He dismissed the government’s recent 100-day plan announcement as nothing more than a PR stunt, designed to deflect from its shortcomings.

Kharge’s critique extended to the acronym BJP itself, suggesting that ‘B’ stands for Betrayal and ‘J’ for Jumla (gimmick), questioning the government’s failed promises such as the pledge to create two crore jobs annually. He also highlighted India’s troubling statistics on global indices, noting the country’s positions on the Global Hunger Index, the UN Human Development Index, and the Global Gender Gap Index, pointing to these as indicators of the government’s performance deficits.

The Congress leader also raised concerns about India’s high unemployment rate, the frequency of competitive exam paper leaks under the current administration, and the desperation that leads to stampedes at job fairs, asking rhetorically who bears the responsibility for these systemic failures.
