Karachi, February 04, 2020 (PPI-OT): Sindh minister for Industries and Commerce and Cooperative Department and Anti-corruption Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has asked the officers of Anti-corruption Department to work on merit, adopt professional attitude and not to harass any one unnecessarily and hold regular meetings to dispose of the cases. This he said while presiding over an introductory meeting of Sindh Anti-corruption Department here in his office, having assumed the charge of Minister for Anti-corruption and Enquiries.
On this occasion Chairman Anti-corruption Muhammad Waseem, Additional Secretary Sohail Qureshi, Director -I Farukh Shahzad Qureshi, Director -II Murtaza Memon and other officers also attended the meeting. While briefing the meeting Chairman Muhammad Waseem told that in 2019 as many as 68 raids were conducted, 12 were caught red handed, 205 FIRs were lodged, 55 accused were arrested while 325 challans were submitted.
It was further stated that in 2018 as many 22 raids were conducted while 21 were caught red-handed. Provincial Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo added, ‘ I will make all efforts to restructure the department to improve the performance and to bring good name to the department. He also asked them to arrange awareness seminars, walks and educate the people against the corruption. Sindh minister for Industries and Commerce and Cooperative Department and Anti-corruption directed to fill the vacant posts on merit basis to meet our the shortage of the staff.
