Islamabad: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of Islamabad Police has busted an inter-provincial gang of fraudsters including two brothers who used to deprive the people from their money on the pretext of selling houses and cars to them, a police spokesman said.
On receiving complaints about a gang involved in depriving people from their valuables, IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik assigned the task to SP (Investigation) Ch. Liaqat Ali and In-Charge CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon to unearth this gang and ensure arrest of fraudsters involved in cheating people.
A special police team headed by In-Charge CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon succeed to trace and arrest three gangsters identified as Waseem Mehdi s/o Fazal Mehdi resident of district Jhelum and two brothers Mehr Muhammad Qasim s/o Sher Muhammad and Muhammad Bilal Hussain s/o Sher Muhammad, residents of Village Khurampur Juta Khanewal.
During the preliminary investigation, it has come to know that they used to deprive people from their money or valuables on the pretext of selling cars or houses to them after giving ads in various newspapers.
Police team also recovered fake currency worth Rs. 90,000, looted money Rs. 140,000 and gold ornaments from their possession. They also fraudently portrayed themselves to be the owner of Ages Links Multi International Company (Pvt) Ltd in sector I- 8 and while also running Wisal and Company at Insaf Plaza in F-10 Markaz.
It has also come to know that they were earlier challaned by FIA, Industrial Area police Islamabad, Shalimar police Islamabad and police of various districts in fraud and cheating cases. They have been also declared proclaimed offender and wanted to police.
IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik have appreciated this performance of CIA Police team and In-Charge CIA Bashir Ahmed Noon. They announced cash prizes as well as commendation certificates for the members of police team.
It has been appealed to citizens to be aware of such gangs and contact CIA Police Islamabad in case they have become victims of this gang.
