Crisis Management System in Karachi begins within ten days

Karachi, October 18, 2015 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh, Muhammad Siddique Memon presided over a meeting regarding establishment of Crisis Management System in Karachi in his office. The meeting was attended by Mr. Ghulam Hyder Jamali, Inspector General Police, Sindh, Mr. Perviz Ahmed Seeher, the Secretary Implementation and coordination, SGA and CD, GOS, Karachi, Mr. Sajjad Hussain Abbasi, Administrator, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and Syed Salman Shah, the Director General PDMA Sindh.

In the meeting the decisions were taken that the PDMA Sindh will obtain the details of rescue and relief facilities available with various stakeholders working under the umbrella of federal and provincial government, law enforcement agencies, non-governmental organizations etc.

Within the period of ten days. They will be further asked as to how they can contribute in the proposed crisis management system and the follow up meeting in this regard will be held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Sindh in the first week of November 2015, where the concerned stakeholders would also be invited. Further modalities with regard to establishment of crisis Management system initially at Karachi would be discussed and finalized.
