Developing-10 Forum meeting to be held on 5th September at Islamabad

Islamabad, September 04, 2013 (PPI-OT): The 6th meeting of D-10 Forum will be held on September 5, 2013 at Islamabad in which all major development partners, Government of Pakistan, provincial governments, Ambassadors and other key institutions will participate. Secretary Economic Affairs Division, Ms. Nargis Sethi will chair the meeting.

The Forum affords unique opportunity to Government of Pakistan, Provincial Governments and the development partners for reviewing and coordinating development agenda.

As the new government has an ambitious development plan, the forum meeting at such time assumes a very important position. The meeting will discuss and take key decisions regarding the progress on Millennium Development Goals Acceleration Framework.

The Planning Commission will present the present government’s development priorities and strategies to achieve the same. National Disaster Management Authority will present its overall preparedness performance and its current National Contingency plan for Monsoon.

D-10 is a major forum in which ten major development partners of Pakistan meet and coordinate the development agenda for the country.

UN resident Coordinator, EU Acting Ambassador, Country Representatives of UNDP, UNICEF, ADB, World Bank, DFID, USAID, JAICA and representatives from Embassies of US, China and France are expected to attend the meeting.
