BISP Chairperson Conducts Surprise Inspection at Islamabad Payment Sites

Islamabad, Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Mrs. Rubina Khalid, made an unexpected visit to the program’s payment campsite and the Benazir One Window Center in Islamabad today. The visit aimed to oversee the disbursement of quarterly stipends and to ensure the proper treatment and servicing of the women beneficiaries.

According to Press Information Department, Mrs. Khalid’s visit included interactions with beneficiaries and inspections of the operational processes at the campsite near the Pak-China Center and the center in the G-7 area. She emphasized the importance of official communication for stipend disbursement, advising beneficiaries to respond only to messages from the program’s official number. Mrs. Khalid confirmed each beneficiary should receive Rs. 10,500, with instructions to request a bank receipt and report any discrepancies immediately.

The chairperson addressed both staff and beneficiaries, stressing the need for honesty, respect, and efficiency in the payment process. She personally monitored transactions, directed improvements in the payment mechanism, and instructed against issuing tokens unless the stipend amounts were confirmed in the beneficiaries’ accounts.

At the One Window Center, Mrs. Khalid reviewed the survey registration process, emphasizing the need for clear instructions and guidance for beneficiaries. This visit underscores her commitment to enhancing the transparency and effectiveness of the BISP’s operations.
