DPM condemns crackdown on IOK youth

Srinagar, February 15, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM) has strongly condemned the crackdown on the Kashmiri youth and students by the Indian police.

The DPM General Secretary, Muhammad Shafi Reshi in a statement issued in Srinagar, reiterating the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue liberation movement till complete success, said that India could not suppress the movement through cheap tactics like use of brute force.

He criticized the authorities for crackdown on the youth, adding that their houses were being raided and their family members including aged parents were being harassed. He said that the international community should take notice of the Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory.

Muhammad Shafi Reshi said that India should accept the ground reality in the occupied territory, end the human rights violations and release all the arrested youth.
