ECP dismisses baseless social media reports regarding postal ballots

The Election Commission of Pakistan has termed the news reports on social media, carrying number of postal ballots of jail inmates obtained by various candidates as baseless and misleading.

The Commission in a statement clarified that the Returning Officers open and count postal ballots in their respective constituency in front of the candidates and their polling agents during the consolidation process. Then these ballot papers are included to final result.

The commission urged the people to not give any attention to such misleading news.
