Elections on Feb 8 in interest of country, political parties: Solangi

Caretaker Information Minister Murtaza Solangi says that it is in interest of all political forces that general elections should be held on eighth of next month.

Speaking at seventh edition of Think Fest 2024 in Lahore today, he said it would be good for country if elections are held on scheduled date.

He said that it was clearly written in preamble of Constitution that Pakistan would be run by elected representatives.

Murtaza Solangi said in fact, the working class of Pakistan does not have a level playing field.

He said without a fundamental change in system enabling common man to contest elections, there would not be a level playing field.

The minister stressed that every political party should give its members the right to vote in election of its office-bearers.
