Karachi, October 23, 2012 (PPI-OT): Haq Parast Members of Sindh Assembly Syed Khalid Ahmed, Syed Manzar Imam, Nishat Zia Qadri and Rehan Zafar have directed the KW and SB to cancel all the Water and Sewerage Personnel’s vacations. Emergency has been implemented in all 18 towns of the city.

The decision was made during a meeting chaired by the members of Sindh assembly. The attendees comprised of Managing Director KW and SB Misbahuddin Farid, DMD (T and S) Ali Mohammad Palejo and Chief Engineers of all five districts.

During the meeting, M.D KW and SB briefed the MPAs about the emergency measures taken on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. He said that the master plan to ensure provision of water and sewerage facilities during vacations has been finalized. All C.Es and XENs have been directed to keep their mobiles on during the vacations and make sure that any complaint is dealt with immediately as well as report it to the M.D Secretariat.

He said that the Chief Engineer and XEN offices have been converted into complaint centres throughout the city, all the concerned officers are making sure that water and sewerage complaints around Mosques, Imambargahs and Eidgahs are dealt with before Eid day. He said that any officer found guilty of carelessness would face severe consequences.

Haqparast Members of Sindh Assembly said that water and sewerage facilities are the basic right of the citizens of Karachi and KW and SB must ensure that lines are not chocked during Eid-ul-Adha and water is supplied throughout the city.

They said that Water and Sewerage teams must be deployed in all 18 towns and these teams with work with Town Administrators to resolve public complaints.

M.D KW and SB said that KW and SB has appealed the public not to dump the guts of their sacrificial animals in the gutters and report their complaints at 99231221 for District South and East, 99230317 for District Malir, 99245127 for District West and Central or KMC Complaint number 1339. They can also register their complaints at KW and SB complaint centre 99244595-6.
