Experts Condemn BJP’s Arbitrary Detention Tactics in IIOJK

Srinagar: Political experts and analysts in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have criticized the New Delhi-controlled BJP regime for the arbitrary detention of Kashmiris, a move seen as an attempt to suppress political dissent and enforce submission.

According to Kashmir Media Service, since the revocation of Kashmir’s special status in August 2019, numerous Kashmiris, including high-profile leaders like Musarrat Alam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, and Shabbir Ahmad Shah, have been detained under stringent laws and held in prominent Indian prisons such as Tihar. These detentions are part of a broader strategy by the Modi-led government, which experts argue is aimed at crushing the Kashmiri identity and silencing opposition through draconian measures.

The political landscape in IIOJK has witnessed significant deterioration in human rights, with routine violations such as killings, arrests, torture, and property seizures by Indian forces. The situation has drawn international concern, with calls for urgent global intervention to address these human rights abuses and uphold Kashmiri rights under international law.
