Faisalabad Electric Supply Company disconnected 39 water supply connections

Faisalabad: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has disconnected as many as 39 water supply connections of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA). A spokesman of FESCO said here Wednesday that WASA was defaulter of Rs.64 million despite of repeated notices it failed to clear the pending dues. He said that earlier, the disconnected connections were restored in view of the public problems and assurance of WASA authority to clear the dues but it failed to honour its commitments and hence it 39 electricity connections installed at various disposal stations, pumping stations and other installation have been severed. On the directive of Manager Operation first circle Khalid Rasheed the field staff of FESCO has disconnected 39 connections.

Five electric towers fallen during wind storm has been re-erected by Grid Station Construction (GSC) Directorate in a record period of 3 days. According to details the five towers fell due to high velocity wind storm on the night of May 21 and as a result five towers of 132-KV Kabeerwala – Shorkot, 66-KV Chiniot road-Jhang road transmission lines fallen on the ground, disrupting power supply in Shorkot and its adjoining area. However, as alternative measure the electricity was restored immediately through Faisalabad – Gojra line. The Chief Executive Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) Tariq Mehmood Chattha immediately directed GSC to start work for the rehabilitation of the fallen towers. Two sub divisions of GSC started work on rehabilitation of Kabeerwala – Shorkot transmission line. Similarly, work on Chiniot road and Jhang road was also started immediately and electricity supply has been restored within record period of 86 hours. Chief Executive Officer has appreciated the hard work, dedication and commitment of the GSC staff who have to remain in field for 86 hours.
