Federal Finance Minister Discusses Energy Sector Developments with PARCO and Gunvor Group

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, met with executives from PARCO and the Gunvor Group to discuss ongoing and future energy projects in Pakistan. The meeting included key figures such as Mr. Mehmet Celepoglu, Executive Vice President Oceania and South Asia PARCO, and Mr. Torbjörn Törnqvist, CEO and co-founder of Gunvor Group, a prominent investor in the Pakistani oil sector.

According to Press Information Department, the representatives from PARCO and Gunvor Group briefed the Minister on their current operations and pledged continued support for the development of Pakistan’s energy infrastructure. Senator Aurangzeb outlined the government’s energy reforms, state-owned enterprise (SOE) reforms, and privatization initiatives, highlighting the strategic importance of foreign investment in these areas.

The Minister appreciated the delegation’s commitment to Pakistan’s energy sector and emphasized the government’s intent to strengthen partnerships with international firms to enhance economic growth and sustainability. The meeting underscored the government’s ongoing efforts to attract and secure foreign investment as a pivotal part of its economic strategy.
