Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation to take final shape for launching New Housing Schemes

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat has directed the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF) to gear up its efforts and take final shape for launching new housing schemes across the country for the relief of government employees, specified groups and general public.

He gave these directions while chairing a meeting to review performance of the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF), here today.

The Minister said that all development work in G-13 and G-14 sectors should be completed at the earliest so that construction of houses by it allottees to take momentum. He said that government is committed to provide a house to everyone living in every nook and corner of the country. The Minister said that there was scarcity of government residential accommodation in the Federal capital and provincial metropolitans for the government employees and construction of housing units at a large scale would overcome the shortage problem of accommodation to a great extent.

The meeting was informed that Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation has delivered 25,465 developed plots and 2069 apartments in deferent housing schemes in major city of Pakistan and development of 5430 plots was in progress. The foundation will also provide 4000 plots and 2700 high rise apartments to the Federal Government Employees and specified groups in near future. The meeting was also told that under the housing foundation membership drive 19629 employees and people belonging to specified groups have been registered.

Secretary Housing and Works Raja Muhammad Abbas, senior officials of the Ministry and FGEHF attended the meeting.
