Federal Minister Unveils Ambitious IT Export Roadmap

Karachi: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja has announced a strategic roadmap to elevate IT exports and related businesses to 25 billion dollars over the next decade. Addressing a ceremony in Karachi, she emphasized the government’s commitment to equipping the youth with the necessary skills to meet market demands.

According to Radio Pakistan, the initiative is aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision and involves the implementation of a skill bridge program. This program is designed to engage young individuals through internships in various industries, thereby enhancing their practical experience. To date, 2,700 internships have been successfully completed under this initiative.

Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted that the program focuses on training youth in modern IT courses, including artificial intelligence and cyber security, to address the current market needs. She reported that 12,600 young individuals have already been trained and equipped with a range of IT skills. Moreover, plans are in place to train an additional 18,000 graduates, further expanding the pool of skilled professionals in the field.
