Forest Fire in Kho e Khandaran Area Successfully Contained

Islamabad, A significant forest fire that broke out in the Kho e Khandaran area, straddling the border of Barkhan and Kholu, on March 16, 2024, has been successfully contained thanks to the coordinated efforts of various government and military entities. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) of Balochistan, the Forest Department, Frontier Corps, and District Administration, has managed to confine the fire, significantly reducing the risk of further spread.

According to Press Information Department, the Forest Officer confirmed that the situation is under control and the area is being closely monitored by the Forest Department and District Administration to prevent any resurgence of the fire. The NDMA remains vigilant, continuing to work closely with PDMA Balochistan and other relevant departments to ensure the safety of the local communities and to oversee the firefighting efforts. This includes ongoing monitoring and assessment to ensure the complete suppression of the forest fire and to allocate resources efficiently.

The successful containment of the fire underscores the effectiveness of the coordinated response among the various entities involved.
